Congratulations to Dr Jyoti Nangalia, who has been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, one of 60 new Fellows announced this year. The honour recognises her work on how changes in DNA acquired over a persons lifetime can drive cancer and other diseases, including her discovery of CALR mutations as a major cause of myeloproliferative neoplasms, testing for which is now recommended by the World Health Organisation.
