Congratulations to Dr Jyoti Nangalia, who has been appointed as the Wellcome Sanger Institute’s first Faculty Chair for Clinician Scientists. Appointed by the SLT Faculty and Academic Matters Sub-Committee, the role provides scientific leadership, advocacy and strategic direction for the Institute’s Clinician Scientist community, alongside Jyotis existing roles as a Group Leader and Consultant Haematologist.
On being appointed, Jyoti said: I am delighted to take on this new role. Clinician Scientists bring a vital perspective to Sanger as we work across both research and clinical practice. I look forward to acting as a strong academic voice and advocate for our community to strengthen the essential integration between clinical practice and research.
